Meet Karen Poko

Karen Poko is a member of the BIPOC community, a femme in STEM, and a systems‑minded leader committed to building sustainable, equitable pathways for nonprofits and the communities they serve. Karen is the founder of Aurvault Nexus Inc., a science‑informed, community‑rooted innovation designed to transform how organizations retain supporters, access sustainable solutions, and build long‑term resilience.

A foundation in biology shaped Karen’s understanding of how systems adapt, self‑correct, and thrive. A parallel grounding in psychology deepened her insight into how people think, feel, and change. These two sciences come together in her work, guiding a co‑creation process that keeps community voices at the center and prevents blind‑spot decision‑making. Every component of her approach is designed with people, not for them.

A career that spans face‑to‑face fundraising through to board leadership gives Karen a rare, full‑spectrum view of the nonprofit sector. Direct experience with frontline pressures, operational constraints, and governance‑level challenges revealed the systemic gaps that keep organizations in cycles of scarcity. These lived pain points are the driving force behind her mission to build tools that make nonprofit work sustainable, humane, and effective.

The photo featured on this site was taken by Karen herself while volunteering at a local arts festival in the city she lived in at the time. The image reflects the heart of her work—community, creativity, and the belief that meaningful change is built through shared effort and shared imagination.

Aurvault Nexus Inc. / A.N.I (pronounced Annie, like the name) is her contribution to a future where humanity is not fighting for survival, but operating sustainably in ways that support our shared home—Earth—and all the beautiful life it contains. A simple vision guides this work: when humanity thrives, organizations thrive, communities thrive, and the planet thrives with them.
